Stuffed Oat & Fig Apples


These are quick and easy baked apples with a stuffing that is super nutritious and is free of any added sugar. You can eat them warm or cool them down, store them in the fridge and eat them within a day.

They are also dairy and egg free, and if you choose to use gluten free oats, they will also be suitable for those with gluten sensitivity.

Preparation time: 15 min for preparation, 30 min for baking

Ingredients for 3 portions

  • 3 large apples

  • 4 tablespoons of oats

  • 3 dried figs

  • 1/3 cup of almond milk

  • a handful of chopped hazelnuts

  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon of cloves


How to make them:

Core each apple using a corer or a small sharp knife, making a large well in the centre. Do not discard the cored “apple meat” and keep it to use it as a part of the stuffing.

Transfer the cored apples to a baking tray.

In a separate bowl, mix oats, chopped figs, hazelnuts, cinnamon, cloves and almond milk and let it stand for 5 min.

Add 1/2 part of the “apple meat” that you removed from the apples and blend the mix with a stick blender until smooth.

Then fill up the cored apples with the prepared oat mix and bake them at 175 C for 30 min.
